RAIMU-KUN (Direct from the farm)

来夢くんOn October 1, 2012, a new restaurant that sells its products direct from the farm opened in Shinjo, Mizusawa, Oshu. Its name is RAIMU-KUN.

It is very spacious with a high ceiling.
Many fresh fruits and vegetables produced in the Tanko region are sold at RAIMU-KUN. Only products that pass strict inspections are sold in order to ensure that everyone’s meals are safe. For example, products are accurately checked as to what pesticides or other chemicals are used.
And of course, eggs and meat, such as the famous Maesawa Beef, are sold as well.
Products are not limited to fruits, vegetables and meat produced in the Tanko region. They also sell fresh seafood from the Hirota Bay.
In addition to food, the store also sells Nanbu Tekki (ironware), seasonal flowers and other products.

来夢くん There is a huge restaurant in RAIMU-KUN.
You can eat dishes using ingredients picked in this region.
For example:
 ◇Direct Vegetable Curry (¥480)
 ◇Vegetable Tempura Soba / Udon (¥550)
 ◇Tsukimi (Sunny-side up egg) Soba / Udon (¥500)
◇A Lunch / B Lunch = Main Entrée + Rice + Soup / Salad Bar (Prices vary depending on the season.)

Next to the restaurant there is a store where you can purchase delicious rice bread and another that sells gelato and soft ice cream.
来夢くん The soft ice cream is made from MO-CHAN milk. It is quite thick and delicious.
But RAIMU-KUN features other interesting amenities in addition to direct sales and the restaurant. For example, near the building are many huge greenhouses. You can enjoy picking your own strawberries in these greenhouses from the beginning of January to the beginning of June.
In addition, the store also has recipes for dishes using the fruits, vegetables, meat and eggs sold direct from the farm.

RAIMU-KUN represents a new type of direct from the farm sales which includes not just shopping and meals, but also offers many other fun things to do.
